ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC is a ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× of high-performing, public schools committed to excellence, equity, and justice. Equipped with a ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC education, our alumni are empowered to be successful in college, careers, and life.

25 years ago in a church basement in SE DC, ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC founder Susan Schaeffler and a team of dedicated educators founded our first school, KEY Academy. Since then, ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC has scaled from 80 students in that one middle school to nearly 7,500 students—in preschool through 12th grade—across 22 schools.

testimonials

"My whole family has come through ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC and I think that the relationships the teachers have with not only the kids, but with the parents and the siblings – it’s unmatched. It’s something I feel like I couldn’t get anywhere else. That genuine love and concern is what drew my family to ÈËÆÞÂÒÂ× DC and what has kept us for over 14 years. "
